Tasting Note
The latest release of Savarts NV Extra Brut Premier Cru LAccomplie is based on the 2015 and 2016 vintages, and it was disgorged in October 2018 with four gams per liter dosage. Its a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay that hails from the lower-lying part of Le Mont Benoit. Unfurling in the glass with notes of ripe Meyer lemons, red apples, lime zest, acacia honey and toasted almonds, its medium to full-bodied, racy and incisive, with a nicely concentrated and tight-knit core, terrific cut and a long, mouthwateringly chalky finish. Savarts elegant style—and the partial malolactic that some of the base wines for this cuvee see—has proven the perfect foil for the 2015 vintage base.
